My name is Christine, I have lived for fifty of your Earth years and I am a dollaholic. There, I have confessed. I really love creating my Mystikal Maidens under my alter ego of Melangell - the financial reward may be small, but the sense of satisfaction and acheivement I feel when each is finished is priceless. Not to mention the fact that working at home allows me to drink tea all day if I so wish, not to mention the freedom to shout at the radio when I disagree with the presenters and make all the mess I like. The endless search for new ribbons, trimmings, knick knacks and all the multifarious paraphernalia that goes into creating each Maiden and making her an individual with her own style and character is also fascinating, as there are always new things to discover and avenues to explore.
The delightful process of dreaming up a new Maiden, usually to correspond with the various festivals of the Pagan year, as well as themes from Nature, History, Mythology, the Elements, Flowers, Birthstones, Goddesses or just whatever snippet of inspiration meanders into my head that day, takes up much of my time, and I am at my happiest when transforming Little Miss Massproduced into something that is unique, original and will hopefully give their owner much pleasure. The dolls you see on here represent only the ideas so far which have come to fruition – I promise you, there are many, many more!
Sharing my humble home and helping in their various ways are my long-suffering husband Stephen, superannuated student, IT consultant to Melangell's, kind, patient and no slouch with a sewing machine either....and my son Julian Joseph, aged ten, world expert on Marvel comics, Doctor Who and Star Wars - a true individual.
Not resident with us are my son Matt (24), sound engineer, bassist and biking chap, and my stepdaughter Jessica (20) in Birmingham.
And not forgetting Paddy the Cat, a beautiful creature whose indolence is world-beating.
